No matter which part is your favourite. We are sure you agree that food plays a big part in Christmas celebrations. So which is your favourite Christmas treat? If you love a roast turkey on Christmas day then you are sure to love our latest recipe.
In this weeks recipe blog we are showing you how to make a simple but delicious cranberry sauce. Perfect for accompanying your turkey or even cheese and crackers.
Cranberry sauce is the perfect recipe to store in one of our affordable glass jars. We would recommend using our 190ml Panel jar for this particular recipe as it's the perfect size to store in the cupboard or fridge and works well as a gift too!
200g caster sugar
1 orange, zest and juice (100ml Juice)
3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
5 x 190ml Panel Jars
Large Jam Pan and wooden spoon
Ladle or mug and saucer
Add your cranberries, caster sugar, water, orange zest, orange juice and cinnamon to your jam pan and bring to the boil.
Boil for around 5-10 minutes. At some point your cranberries should start to open and pop. Once they start doing this give them a mash with your wooden spoon to help release some of the pectin inside.
Lower the heat and stir in the port. Heat for a further 5 minutes or until the sauce thickens.
Remove from the heat and ladle in to freshly sterilised jars.
It's best to eat this straight away but it should last in the fridge for 1-2 weeks.
