From Concept to Delivery: Creating Custom Hot Sauce Gift Boxes for Pip's Hot Sauce

Over the past few months, we’ve had the pleasure of working with Pip's Hot Sauce to create a range of custom cardboard gift boxes for their growing range of award-winning hot sauces.

Known for bold flavours, big personality and small-batch production, Pip’s has built a loyal following with its handcrafted sauces and popular gift sets, including its Mini Hot Sauce Gift Set and Classic 3 Pack.

When Pip approached us looking for a packaging solution that matched the quality of what was inside the bottle, we knew this was going to be an exciting project.

The Process: From Initial Conversations to Final Samples

Like any custom packaging project, it all started with a conversation. Pip’s came to us with a clear goal. They wanted packaging that would:

From there, our design team began developing concepts around two core products

Pip’s Mini Hot Sauce Gift Set

Their popular mini taster set gives customers the chance to sample multiple award-winning sauces in one gift-ready pack. The set includes a selection of their best-selling flavours and is already packaged in recyclable cardboard.

Pip’s Classic 3 Pack

Their classic three-bottle set offers customers a curated introduction to some of their best-known sauces.

With these products in mind, we moved into the prototyping stage.

Sampling, Testing and Fine-Tuning

No custom box leaves our workshop without being tested. Once the initial designs were complete, we produced sample boxes for Pip’s to review.

This stage allowed us to refine:

• Bottle fit

• Internal spacing

• Ease of assembly

• Outer presentation

• Print placement

We also carried out transit testing to ensure the bottles remained secure during courier handling, particularly important during busy gifting periods. After a few minor adjustments, the final designs were signed off and ready for production.

Manufacture: Bringing the Design to Life

Once approved, production moved quickly. Using high-quality board, each box was manufactured to deliver the perfect balance between:

The finished boxes provide excellent protection for glass bottles while still creating that premium gift-box feel customers expect.

By tailoring the internal dimensions specifically around Pip’s bottle sizes, we were able to minimise movement in transit while keeping the packaging compact and efficient.

Delivery: From Our Warehouse to Theirs

Once production was complete, the finished boxes were carefully packed and dispatched to the Pip’s warehouse, ready for immediate use across their online orders, markets and gifting ranges.

Seeing a custom packaging project move from initial sketch to real-world product is always rewarding. Especially when it’s supporting an independent brand doing great things.
