How To You Secure Your Glass Bottle Or Jar
When you are selling a food product or a drink you need to ensure that it is securely sealed and has a way of being tamper evident.
When you got to the supermarket you will notice a lot of jam jars have those buttons on top of the lid. Or even a bottle of coke will have a security ring around the bottom of the cap. Both of these solutions are in place to show the product hasn't been opened since it was made. So this makes sure it's fresh and not tampered with.
A lot of our bottle caps and jar lids have features like this already built in. In fact we sell lids a lot like the ones you will find on a bottle of coke. But what if you want to add an extra layer of security. Or your lid doesn't have this feature built in? Like a cork for a gin bottle?
The solution to this problem is to add a heat shrink capsule over the bottle and cork. You will be very familiar with this capsules as you find them all the time on bottles of wine which use a cork.
This solution is also a very easy fix and is not time consuming either. All you need to do is find the right size capsule for your bottle (check out the end of this blog to find out how to do this). Pop it over your sealed bottle. And apply heat to the capsule. It will then shrink to create a snug fit over your bottle and lid.
There are a few ways to shrink the capsule. You can either use steam from the kettle to apply heat. A heat gun. Hot water. Or a dedicated heat shrinker. The basic principle is the same. Apply a small amount of heat evenly to the capsule. And the plastic will shrink around the bottle and cap. It's a quick and easy process which is great when you are filling hundreds of bottles!
Wine Bottle Capsules
Heat shrink capsules are an industry standard way of sealing bottles and they can be seen on a wide variety of products. You have most likely seen them on top of a bottle of wine or a bottle of gin. The capsule works well to ensure your product remains sealed when it's on a shelf in a shop. The last thing you want is someone opening your product before they have bought it.
A lot of heat shrink capsules are black or coloured. But what if you want a more subtle seal so it doesn't distract from your product? This is exactly why we have introduced our clear heat shrink range. It still adds the perfect seal to your bottle. But it's a little more subtle and won't take away from your design and other packaging.
Our range of transparent wine bottle capsules are easy to match with any design, colour or product. They make sealing your product a breeze as you don't have to worry about matching your labels and design to a coloured capsule. They also allow your product to be seen through the whole jar/bottle.
Our Range Of Clear Heat Shrink Capsules
This is technically a shrink band rather than a capsule as it is supplied flat. It's fits perfectly on a number of our mini spirit bottles and has a perforated tear tab. Making it easy for your customers to open.
Another shrink band. Just slightly bigger for bigger bottles and jars. It works just like a normal heat shrink capsule but is just supplied flat.
There is limited stock of this capsule and unfortunately it will not be stocked again as the manufacturer has stopped producing it. However don't worry we are working on an alternative which will be a similar size and style.
This is a our largest clear shrink capsule and is perfect for sealing large jars and bottles. It fits perfectly on our 250ml round sauce bottle. And adds a great seal for any sauces.
